When it comes to big cities like Kuala Lumpur – there is nowhere quite so beautiful to admire the cityscape than from a rooftop bar. With a beautiful skyline a view to rival some of the more high profile capital cities worldwide (the beautiful and rather magnificent Petronas towers can be thanked for that) – if you’re going to treat yourself to a few drinks in a room with a view – Kuala Lumpur is the place to do so.
The great thing about Kuala Lumpur – is also its affordability. Compared to other major cities nearby, such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur is actually relatively cheap in comparison – so take the chance to live the high life and experience some of the luxurious experiences this city has to offer.
Here are a few of my favourite rooftop bars in the city – all with a promise of incredible views!
This hotel is known for it’s impressive view of the Petronas Twin Towers, so if it’s a view of them you’re after, there really is no better place than this to enjoy the evening. The traders hotel is the epitome of luxury and the Sky Bar offers some incredible views, alongside great service too. It’s probably as close to the towers you’ll get to – and definitely unrivalled in terms of un-interrupted views.
This is one of the older roof-top bars in the city, but having had a big re-furb recently, this place is strong in it’s spot on this list. The bar isn’t a place to spend the entire night – but it’s a great spot for a few relaxed drinks in the tropically designed garden before your night gets fully underway. This place is great for something a bit special, but also a lovely place to chill out after a long day of sightseeing too. m
The Luna bar was actually one of the cities first glamorous rooftop spots – and you won’t be disappointed. The décor is fun, modern and luxurious – so this is a great place if you’re wanting to impress a special someone or simply wanting to dress up for a fun night out. The prices are reasonable – although you should expect them to be a little elevated as it’s such a well-known bar in the city. There are amazing 360 degree views though all across the city though – so it’s worth every penny.
This is probably the newest and swankiest rooftop bar in town – so it’s unsurprising that this place is one of the most talked about in town. Because of it’s relatively new status this bar is home to the elite and glamorous – so make sure you’re dressed for the occasion too! There are signature cocktails and specialist mixologists in this bar – which all counts towards making your experience extra special. There are even separate rooms and private areas for those wanting to party hard!
For something a bit more lively and a little more unique, then Rootz is definitely where you’ll want to be heading. The décor inside is definitely something you’ll have never come across before, as it’s very ornate and actually inspired by turn of the century Russian interiors! Sounds pretty special right? That’s because it is! This place is great for getting bargains and deals too – as on some nights they even off free drinks when you enter, so it’s always worth checking their website for updates and offers.
